Colours of this season

Marc Jacobs predicted last year that the colours of the seasons were going to inter-change. Summer was going to be heavy, dark, mostly black and white and winter was going to be soft pastels and neutrals. And if Marc Jacobs says so, so it must be. Neutrals, pinks, taupes and a little bit of blue for a pop are the colours of this season. And especially for us here in the southern hemisphere being in the opposite season from our northern counterparts, waking up to bloggers all over the world getting ready for Spring, we can't help but subconsciously be inspired by soft blush tones of newly blooming flowers or bright blue hues of a clear sky! And you'll see these colours everywhere! Not just in clothes, but in homewares, in gourmet food, in art, anything that is current. I'm loving this change! Can't wait to freshen up my winter wardrobe! Lucky Chadstone VIP night is around the corner.

Can't believe I'm about to say this but...bring on winter! (I may regret saying this in a few weeks though)

S/S 2012/13 Wishlist

Daylight savings begins. It's official - Winter is over. I'm so excited! I LOVE warm weather! In the winter, I complain on an average around 100 times per day about how cold it is. But you'll never hear me say - it's too hot! Bring on the sunshine! Bring on spring/summer outfits! Time to add some colour to my wardrobe! Time to make a Wish-list! It's a short list this time, so where possible I've tried to include pictures of options.

Printed Pants/Trousers

Kit Pinata Purple Nail Polish (or similar)

(A little late on the bandwagon, I know but) An Envelope Clutch

Shirtdress

Chanel Holiday Nail Colour (or similar)

Told you it was a short-list. Stay tuned to find out which of these actually end up in my wardrobe (my bet is - All of them!)...

Until then, here's something to think about....

A/W 2012 Wishlist

Contrary to popular belief, I don't buy ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I want. I WISH I could! But I can't and I don't. I'm certainly not an impulse-shopper. My purchases are ALWAYS well-planned and researched (a process I thoroughly enjoy) because I hate buying something and then going into the next shop only to find something better or heavens-forbid...cheaper! So, I never swipe my card until I've weighed all my options. But before this meticulous researching, I make a wishlist for the season. Some items from this list make the cut, others don't while some become part of my permanent, neverending, wishlist.
Here's what I'm currently coveting for Autumn/Winter 2012...

Faux Fur Vest and/or Faux Fur Snood/Collar

Forever New Cape-Style Coat (or something similar)

Open Asymetric/Waterfall Cardigan or Jacket

Navy Lace skirt/dress/top

Something in this rich wine colour
Statement Necklace, preferably gold

Now which of these wishes come true and which don't, you'll have to wait and watch...

Until then, I leave you with this quote from George Eliot -

“It seems to me we can never give up longing and wishing while we are still alive. There are certain things we feel to be beautiful and good, and we must hunger for them.”
